Brian Chalsma, President, has been in the roofing business since 1995, co-founding The Roofing Company in 1998, which is now expanded to include the new Richmond, VA branch. Brian enjoys the people he works with and the services the company provides to its clients. He is a born leader and a huge advocate for continuous improvement and innovation, qualities that he implements and incorporates into the company.
If there is anyone in this country who knows about slate roofing, it’s Brian Chalsma and his company. The desire to see historic buildings preserved in their function, especially their roofs, is his passion. Brian is President Elect of the National Slate Association and has read The Slate Bible, by Joe Jenkins, numerous times. His experience and knowledge of slate roofing is more than impressive and he is more than willing to share this with anyone who asks. This passion led him to develop the Hampton Roads Slate Roofing School.
Brian’s favorite pass time is spending it with his wife, Teresa Chalsma, and their three lovely daughters.
